Top Tips To Enjoy Your Vacation
Posted by SEO SERVICES in Travel on August 23rd, 2011
Traveling can be heaps of fun if you plan it well; however, it is not likely to be much fun when disorganization enters the picture. Having your accommadations and air plane reservations already in place before you leave on your vacation is not only a handy tip but a smart one at that. Make sure to benefit your trip with these travel tips.
Before you leave for your journey make a list of everything you need to bring along. Be sure to check things off as you pack them. Check your list one last time before you leave. It is also a good idea to make a list of all that needs doing to secure your house if no one will be in it while you are on vacation. This will save you from any nagging doubts that might arise once you have already left, such as, “Did I lock the back door?” or “Did I turn off the oven?” Check the weather of the destination you will be going to in advance so you can pack your clothes accordingly.
Set you your alarm clock the night before, so you will get up with plenty of time to meet your flight. It is wise to set your cell phone alarm, too, that way if the power goes off during the night you will still have an alarm to wake you.
As stated before, make sure to have accommodations reserved before you ever leave for your travels abroad. You can research accommadations online to find the perfect one for you. There are even websites to find hotel discounts to get better rates on your stay. These websites mostly offer flight information so you can book your flight and hotel together.
If you do not want to leave your automobile in the parking lot at the airport the entire time you are on the road, make arrangements for someone to pick you up and take you to the airport - whether it is a friend or a taxi company that you would prefer. You might also think about reserving a rental vehicle ahead of time so when you arrive at your destination you will have a way to get around.
Make sure to follow the airline guidelines for travel and inform yourself what you can bring with you on the plane and what you are not allowed to bring. Keep your tickets handy. Arrive at the airport in plenty of time so you can find where you are going. Plus if you plan to visit any of the airport stores or snack places before you leave, you will have time. Your departure will be much easier if you plan ahead the things you need to do.
If you go by car, you will want to remember your GPS Navigation System. These systems come in handy especially when you are in unfamiliar territory. Even if you are flying to your destination, you still might want your GPS Navigation System so that when you are driving around in your rental car you will be able to find your way around with ease.
Traveling can be plenty of fun if you take the time to plan it properly, so do not let the little things like being unprepared ruin it. Plan ahead and enjoy your trip.
How You Can Obtain The Rewards Of A Timeshare For Less!
Posted by SEO SERVICES in Travel on August 15th, 2011
The thought of owning a vacation home has come across just about any person’s mind at one point or another. Knowing that vacation homes are quite expensive to own and keep up, many Americans look towards timeshare ownership as a way to own a vacation home of their own. However, is this really the case?
The saddening reality is that this is far from the truth. Quite a bit of people buy timeshares looking to be able to vacation to them at least once a year. However, when the consumer calls the timeshare developer for the first time to reserve a room, they will find that it is important to call months in advance to reserve their share of time. This is one of the many frustrations that consumers tend to have with a timeshare.
Another frustration that people tend to experience based around timeshares is the overwhelming amount of expenses that revolve around the property. Every year, as the cost of living increases, the maintenance fees associated with the timeshare increase. After a few years, many people find themselves in a new financial situation than the one that they were in when they buyd the timeshare. These timeshare maintenance fee hikes are one of the reasons for an overwhelming amount of consumer financial hardships nation wide!
Finally, when a consumer buys a timeshare, they usually do not pay it off in full all in one day. This is because timeshares have quite a hefty price tag in most cases being between $8,000.00 and $80,000.00! Most Americans will finance this amount through the timeshare developer. This leaves Americans with a huge amount of debt usually at a high interest rate. Plain and simple, people who have timeshares often feel trapped by the vacation house they thought they would enjoy!
So, I bet your thinking “Will the author deliver on the title?” or “Why would I want the benefits of a timeshare if they are not all that great?”. Well, yes I will deliver on my title and, no Americans really don’t want the “Benefits” of a timeshare. However, consumers do want the benefit of a vacation home. The benefits of being able to go where they want when they want at a low cost!
This is something that is definitely available to people today! What was just described is called a vacation club. Vacation clubs are associations that usually charge around $200.00 per year. Once the association fees are paid, people are able to go to a resort for a steep discount on their schedules!
This article is brought to you by American Resort Resolutions. American Resort Resolutions specializes in the process of timeshare cancellation. Why sell a timeshare for a loss when you can cancel a timeshare and recover your losses. Stop falling for companies who say they can sell your timeshare and stop saying sell my timeshare! It’s time to cancel your timeshare and recover your losses!
A Guide To Terminology Of Villas
Posted by SEO SERVICES in Travel on August 3rd, 2011
Just what is meant by a villa? Well, many times you will find that it it is a small community-like structure of several residential units, perhaps for retired folks or for vacationers to enjoy.
But most likely these days, the word is used for a single house that one can rent (a vacation rental) when on vacation.
Is there a difference between a villa, a vacation rental, a holiday rental, a gite, a chalet, a cottage, a holiday cottage, a self-catering home, a vacation home and a holiday home?
In practical terms, no, the words mean almost the same thing. Of course, a chalet or cottage definitely implies a rustic lodging in the woods, perhaps even by a lake, and maybe even up in the hills, but not on a suburban street.
“Holiday” is how British vacationers refer to what American folks refer to as “vacation”. So a holiday home is another way of saying a vacation home with a Monty Python voice-over. And “self-catering” is how the British and Australians refer to any vacation rental where you have to prepare your own food, so that is true across villas, cottages, etc.
When you visit France, you can call them all “gites” - although more properly, a gite is supposed to mean a rural cottage or a barn conversion, and the word is occasionally used in reference to youth hostels - just to confuse the pot and the kettle.
A villa, as spoken in current vacation rental terminology, is typically a somewhat upscale suburban house. For example, a villa in Costa Brava might be a nicely appointed bungalow in Girona or Figueres, and it might be equipped with a pool or even a spa.
A villa in Costa Blanca might be a newer construction brick bungalow, also with a pool of course, in a modern neighborhood of Alicante.
Of course, the word “villa” may refer to any detached vacation rental home, so read the description carefully and review photos to make sure you know what you are getting.
Although most villas come equipped with a full kitchen, be alert for the term “kitchenette”. Yes, it is the “ette” that makes the difference, and it likely means a counter with a full or half-sized stove - perhaps just a microwave, not even a stove - for heating up food and an undersized refrigerator (maybe even a bar-sized fridge). Don’t expect a full dining room if you read “kitchenette” in the description.
What does it mean when they say “sleeps five”? Well, we own a five-person tent. One person fits in comfortably. Two people fit in easily. A third person can squeeze in. Persons four and five can sleep across the first three people (watch to make sure you don’t get kicked in the face at night).
Same goes for villas. Find out how many bedrooms, how many actual beds and what else they mean by a sleeping place (Two people on a sofa bed? Two single-person folding cots?)
Sometimes you might have read “just steps from the beach”. Some of those villas will be 22 steps from the beach. Others will be 2020 steps from the beach. Find out which one yours is, before you decide to rent it.
What is the difference between “private pool” and “pool access”. Honestly, if you can’t figure out the difference, you probably deserve to get stuck with “pool access”. Consider it a learning experience.
There are plenty of other words that apply to villa rentals, but these will get you started and avoid the most common confusions that people often have.
A Short Get-away In Monterey California
Posted by SEO SERVICES in Travel on July 27th, 2011
My wife and I drove to Monterey along the Big Coast highway one USA, which is supposed to be one of, if not the most beautiful drives in the world.
I would dispute that personally as I have been on more scenic drives. Never the less, it is certainly a drive worth taking if you are in that neck of the woods.
We had been at Lake Tahoe to celebrate our son’s birthday and we had driven to Heavenly from San Francisco. So we decided to make it a round trip.
Driving south from Lake Tahoe towards San Louis Obisco and calling at the Pinnacles National Park on the way. After a day’s hiking at the Pinnacles we journeyed south and then turned north to take the Big Sur coastal highway one.
We had planned to call and see the Hearst mansion but when we realised the only way to do this was to book very strictly (or so it seemed to us) controlled tours with no room to vary it, we gave it a miss.
We looked to see what else there was on the way up and opted for a walk in the Pffiefer National Park. But when we got there the trails were closed due to fire hazard. So we walked over to the coast view where there was a spectacular waterfall , that was worth the stop off.
The drive was certainly very dramatic with the hills coming right down to a rugged and dramatic coastline.
All along the road there were viewing points at quite regular intervals and at one of these pull offs there was a seal sanctuary. There were lots of seals with their pups, which we watched for quite a while.
The drive itself is not very long but because the road is twisty you have to drive fairly slowly but then this allows you to take in the scenery.
Our destination for a short vacation was Monterey before driving back up the coast to San Francisco.
We really liked Monterey, it is a lovely bay and there is plenty to do.
While there we drove to Carmel, which is also a very pretty small town, and visited the famous Mission there. Carmel is great for wandering round and it has a fantastic beach.
Then we went on to Carmel Valley where we thought we might visit a winery. This was not to be, because all the wine tasting seemed to be in wine shops and galleries in the village.
I personally thought the village was a little run down considering the area but not everything can be a picture postcard, even in the USA.
However,it’s always good to have seen different places even if they don’t quite live up to expectations we have in our mind.
We were glad we had chosen to stay in Monterey as it is a great base for the whole area with a wide choise of accomodation and restaurants.
It was interesting to walk along Cannery Row made famous by John Steinbeck, and Fisherman’s Wharf was nice to wander around too.
We also did the famous sixteen-mile drive. You basically paid to drive along the sixteen miles of coastline where people had built expensive houses. It’s just one of those things you have to do. Here is were you view the iconic ‘Lone Pine’.
Also we celebrated my birthday at a restaurant called Latitudes,at Lovers’ Point, which we really enjoyed. The headwaiter sang ‘Happy Birthday’ or any other appropriate song depending on the occasion.
We visited in April, which was a lovely time of year there and the gardens around the bay were carpeted with colourful flowers. And the view at sunset from sunset point is worth taking in.
I think Monterey California would be a good place to live.
It certainly made for a great short break.

Major Advantages And Cons To Use Travel Agent
Posted by SEO SERVICES in Travel on September 18th, 2010
It is no secret that the travel industry has not exactly been prosper for some time. And in the era of web travel booking, many us may be surprising whether a travel agent is useful at all any more. Like other such subjects, there are pros and cons to each side of the problem.
The great advantage of using a travel agent is that you can sit back, relax, and not worry about your vacation planning. Plus, an agent will just have improved knowledge about your destination and can advise you on everything from your hotel stay to how to get around and where to eat. In short, the job of your travel agent is to make sure that you enjoy the best possible vacation with the least quantity of work on your part. In addition to these helpful qualities of a expert agent, many individuals prefer to stick with an agent instead of striving to figure out their trip online. While traveling you need to stay some where. As for hotels, you can visit Portland hotel. A lot of opportunities can be gotten at Portland hotel.
For example, when you plan your trip online, you may not be confident of some supplementary fees or travel requirements that a knowledgeable agent can simply take care of for you. The best travel agents will also bear up on the travel industry and be able to help you find the vacation of your dreams, even if you aren’t yet confident where that is or what it will contain. An agent can sit down with you in individual and help you plan - that’s something that your computer simply cannot do.
When you rely on a quality travel agent, you can book every aspect of your vacation with that person, as opposite to trying to browse different websites and keep track of all of your reservations. More than just booking airfare and hotel reservations, an agent can help you secure dinner reservations, theater tickets, tee times, spa appointments, sightseeing, car rentals, accessibility arrangements, cruises, directions, traveler’s checks, passport/visa processing, frequent flyer miles, and traveler’s insurance.
Of course the great advantage of hiring a travel agent is that if you are trying to travel on a budget, an agent’s fee possibly doesn’t fit into that budget. So if you are ready to dedicate the time it takes, you can make your own travel arrangements fully online and won’t ever require the services of a agent. Online websites are very advanced and some even offer you online services similar to those of a travel agent. Most of the travel booking sites online have gone to great lengths to be certain that all of your travel needs are taken care of without the assistance of an real agent.
Specifically if you have traveled to a particular destination before, you possibly don’t require the services that an agent provides. To sum it all up, the services of travel agents are very useful, but they also come with a price.
If you still confused about the best alternatives concerning hotels, visit Portland hotel services, and get the best advantages!
Traveling? A Few Security Tips For International Flights
Posted by SEO SERVICES in Travel on September 17th, 2010
Now lots of people are traveling very often especially abroad. They receive such a chance by becoming members of vacation clubs (e.g. resorts 360 vacation club). When a person gets a resorts 360 (or any other) membership, he/she not only receive an access to a large number of travel discounts but also get travel business opportunity.
If you have an abroad trip, most probably, you would have to use international airlines in order to get there. It?s a well known fact that the level of security on international flights increased dramatically in past few years. These days all luggage goes through a strict security checks. I, personally are quite nervous when it comes the time to leave their baggage. You may know that the real risk of keeping your possessions safe when is when the luggage leave the care of the airline. Now we are going to give you some recommendations on how to keep your belongings safe when traveling abroad.
Those vacationers who have ever lost there lug luggage on an international flight do remember how sad it may be to find him/herself in an unknown country without the most important belongings.
The first recommendation that I can give you is to keep the most important of your stuff on you. Actually, when you travel abroad, the most important things you would need in any situation are your passport and credit cards. That is why you need to be very attentive, in order to keep them safe. Don?t forget, you should never put your travel documents in suitcases. It would be good to keep them in some hidden pocket of your closing or in your purse or security-belt bag. If so, than even when you lose your luggage, you still have your documents. Another advice would be to make a certified copies of all your travel documents and leave them with a relative back home.
One more thing you need to do is to get travel insurance. It?s really unwise to travel abroad without travel insurance. You have to keep it in mind that some airlines do not hold responsibility for lost or damaged luggage. That is why it?s unwise and dangerous to travel without travel insurance. Actually, travel insurance is not an expensive thing at all. Its quite inexpensive and if you are to even lose anything, it can make all the difference.
And finally, it is a good idea to mark your luggage and lock it. You may find this idea unsound, still you would have to do it. The cause is that by marking your luggage, you make it easier for airline staff to find your baggage in case it has got lost. It sometimes happens that luggage is tampered with. But if you lock your bag no one will open it.
